“This is my son’s third summer at Butler Camp. I like that as my son gets older...he gets exposure to even more activities. It is a wonderful setting for a camp.”

Here's Why We Offer the Best Summer Camp Programs in Montgomery County, Maryland!

At Butler Camp, we take pride in providing a great outdoor program while giving families a sense of community and connection. The popularity of our camp and large number of returning campers each summer can be attributed to the care given to each child by our experienced staff, and to a well-planned schedule of varied fun and skill-building activities. Children explore and play on our beautiful 22-acre campus which features its own pool, playground, ropes challenge course, garden, greenhouse, horses and stables, archery range, and hiking trails and is adjacent to Seneca Creek State Park. Some of our older campers travel off campus for canoeing, caving, fishing, mountain biking, rock climbing, whitewater rafting, tubing and overnight camping, while our younger campers enjoy the use of air-conditioned classrooms for their “home base” during the camp day.  All of our campers enjoy daily swimming supervised by two certified lifeguards along with 2-3 Camp Counselors per group. Our pool is managed by a State and County approved provider, who manages water quality, pool facility care, and lifeguard staffing and training. Each camp program is staffed by 2-3 counselors including a Lead and Assistant, in addition to our Water and Land Facilitators, Indoor and Outdoor Coordinators and Specialties Guides (Art, Field Games, Ropes, and Archery) as well as certified riding instructors for our Equestrian camp. Our staff is fully cleared with background checks, National/State/County fingerprinting and receive a comprehensive Butler Camp training, 1st Aide/CPR certification and age appropriate developmental orientation. Many are education majors in college and/or have worked with us during previous summers. Our administration team includes two Camp Directors who are seasoned child and youth development professionals. Together they bring thirty-three years of experience in the educational, enrichment, non-profit, and expertise to Butler Camp. Each session is also monitored by our staff Supervisory Nurse. Bus transportation is staffed by CDL-licensed drivers and camp counselors who ride on the bus to supervise children. You can visit our campus and learn more about our programs at our next Camp Open House:

Saturday, March 24: 2-4pm

Sunday, May 20: 2-4pm
